Lake Mead is a reservoir formed by the Hoover Dam on the Colorado River in the Southwestern United States. It is located in the states of Nevada and Arizona, 24 mi (39 km) east of Las Vegas. It is the largest reservoir in the US in terms of water capacity.
It was incredibly windy at The Robert L Mendenhall Scenic Overlook, which is quite high up in above the roadway. When we got out of the car, we opened one door at a time, and still the car-door was almost snatched out of my Bride's hand! We walked around literally leaning into the wind! This photograph was taken hips pressed into the barrier, leaning forward probably 30 degrees trying to keep the camera steady! Vibration Reduction (VR) played a heavy role on this day!
