While the white-backed vultures clean an elephant carcass, they are joined by another much more impressive vulture. The lappet-faced vulture settles in and clearly shows who is the leader.

Namibia - Lappet-faced vulture - Torgos tracheliotos - Vautour oricou

The Lappet face is a really beautiful bird. Especially up close.
Beautiful photos - especially the second one. It looks like you had good light.
Thank you for your comment Elsa.
It was in the morning. Apart from the lappet-faced vulture, the most significative element was the smell of the decaying elephant corpse

Great shots of some ugly birds Philippe, nice crop, you didn't need to see much more of the elephant to tell the story.
