This is not precisely a photo processing question, but it's related and I'll bet folks here have the answer: I'm going to donate to charity a Windows 11 laptop that I intended to use for quick processing, but the display doesn't work for me. What should I do to "wipe" the device before I donate it?

(And for those who are curious, this is the predecessor to the high res laptop I got to replace it, and which is mentioned in another thread I started recently.)

Use a program like DBAN to wipe the active partition. Be sure that there is a hidden recovery partition so you can restore the operating system and utilities for the new user.

In most cases just doing a "recovery" will format the C: boot partition and then re-install the operating system and utilities on the computer.
