LCD not letting me shoot

Sudden Z8 lcd issue. Having previously used the LCD for some low-level shooting, it is suddenly not letting me do that.

Instead the screen either shows playback- or when I press the play button, it scrolls to the menu/information screen(below)- I can’t get it off that.if I try to toggle out of it it goes to menu then back to playback So therefore can’t shoot with the screen.

I’m mystified- but I’m sure I’ve done something and it’ll be simple to fix…

Not a Z8 user, but on the Z6 there is a button on the left side of the EVF that switches through modes: EVF only, monitor only, automatic switch, EVF prio (not sure about the last one, I don't use that). Try that, happens to me frequently to press said button without realizing it and wonderong why the monitor is on or why the EVF stays dark.

Have you tried hitting the "DISP" button (top-right of your pic, on the toggle between photo and video)

It's because you are on the info display - just press the DISP button (or whatever button you have assigned for display) to get back to a shooting screen.

Thanks all sorted- I’d customised my Disp to rsf, now put down on WB sorted- thanks for your help
