This male leopard was in the process of mating with a female, something that happens around every 15 minutes over a period of up to five days. This is obviously tiring and they rest in between bouts of being active.

This guy was getting ready to take a snooze in between jobs.

Nikon D7500 with Nikkor 200-500mm.

Great timing and capture. They are so shy often, this one looks quite chilled! The D7500 does a really good job. Super reviews for it.
Yeah, besides the same sensor the D7500 inherited many of the capabilities of the D500, some of them somewhat watered down. I've not yet run up against a situation where its (lack of) capabilities make me wish I had a D500.

Geeesh I need to go on a real vacation someday.... beautiful sir!
Thanks, Gordon. As for a vacation - you and me both my friend. I grew up in South Africa and spent lots of time looking at wildlife in the game reserves there. Those times were mostly the self-driving safaris in the national parks. The fully catered safaris in the private game reserves that include accommodation, meals and guided game drives in open jeeps are so much better again. I'm itching for one of those again....

Right... for sure. I’ve never been, and seeing all these fantastic photos just makes the itch stronger .
