Only my 4th ever encounter with this enigmatic, prehistoric bird, which is difficult to see at the best of times, let alone being harassed by a Long-Toed Lapwing, an extremely protective
bird especially with young to defend, these guys will take on anything!

Their bill, which takes up most of their face, looks like a huge Dutch wooden clog. :oops:
