Callie, this photo was taken looking NNE from the northern end of the Redcliffe Peninsula.
The horizon from the left edge to under the gull's feet is Bribie Island (fourth largest sand island in the world). To the right of the gull's feet is the open Pacific Ocean with the usual cumulus clouds hanging over the warm East Australian Current.
Thanks David - We have been to Welling Point, about 50 km south. I will see if we go again to visit Redcliffe Beach, if possible. WP is stunning, lots of seabirds to nail! But you need an 800 mm!
