Machias Seal Island Birds (and Seal)

Went out to Machias Seal Island Thursday. Was looking forward to getting on the island, Headed out in heavy fog, but the seas were calm, so we were all hopeful. Once we got to the island the Captain said the waves were hitting the landing area too hard to risk going ashore in the skiff. So he went around the island a couple of times stopping every so often to let us shoot. The heavy fog made for white skies, but we made the best of it. It was a bummer not to get on the island and use the blinds, but a great time none-the-less and I'll try again next year.

Thanks. I am not sure on that. They say that the weather is better in July, plus you would have a better chance of getting shots of the Puffins carrying fish in their beaks. Some people book multiple days to be safe, but the price just went up to $250, so that could get expensive.
