Spent the morning out only with my macro lens to capture some blooms from the blood root and trout lillies which are finally beginning to bloom. Photos include one focus stacked image from early in the am. The blooms opened up more in midmorning but the wind came up as well so they are individual shots.

Nice detail. Is the 105 the only lens you use for macro? I was debating on adding that lens, I have the 18-200mm f3.5 that seems to do a pretty good job and the 40mm f2.8 when I can get in close.

Thanks. I finally added mirrorless due to the images I saw on this forum using this native macro Z mount lens. I really do like the 105. I have mostly used it for close up but it also performs well in tight at 1:1. It also does well with a NISI closeup lens I got as a gift over Christmas. I recently acquired the native S lens 24-120mm due to it's alleged closeup ability and I am initially impressed.

Very, very nice photographs of a couple of my favorite flowers. White trout lily is really rare here in northcentral PA but yellow flowered trout lily is as common as can be.
Thanks for your kind comments. The trout lilly leaves always tease us a time before the plant begins to bloom. We have both the white and yellow trout lillies here in northeast Wisconsin. This location only had a few of the yellow. I always feel the season has changed when I see the blood root blooming.

Thanks for looking Steve. Some of your postings when you first got the 105 macro sold me on the lens. Hope you are enjoying your Sony journey.
