Ant is busy feeding on the nectar of the peony bud. Ants and peonies have a mutual benefit to each other. The ants feed on the nectar without doing any damage and their presence tends to keep other pests away.

Thanks Big, Woody and Irap. This was your typical hyperactive ant. Took a real fistful of shots to get the correct pose and in focus. Good fun.
