Back from the M'pondo Dam in southern Kruger NP, we encountered this male leopard. Originally, he was half hidden behind foliage on top of this large boulder. As we sat watching (we spent >2 hours here) a female leopard approached him, got up on to the rock next to him. She moved of to his left, and then we saw another female leopard approach. The two went off into the veld, maybe to settle the dispute. We noticed the one had a bite mark. Some time later, after the male leopard had moved his position the the one in the image, the first female returned. She tried to entice him a couple of times but he did not seem interested. It was over 40ºC. We unfortunately had to leave but it was the longest and best sighting we have had in Kruger NP.
