I'm in a quandary about memory cards and I'd be interested to know how you good folks deal with it. I'm going on holiday soon for 15 days, 5 of which will be intensive safari trips. The remaining days will be spent sightseeing. I can imagine that I'll be taking lots of photographs but I'm uncertain as to how many to take cards of what size. Normally whilst away I download the photos from the card onto my laptop. However, airline weight restrictions mean that I'll have to leave the laptop at home and do the downloads upon my return. I plan to go through the shots each evening to filter out those I don't want to keep. However, my concern is that despite this I might run out of capacity whilst away. My Z7ii will be my main camera which'll be used throughout the holiday. My D500 will only be used most of the time during the safari. I shoot JPEG fine + RAW. I've got three Delkin 128GB CF type B cards which should give me about 1800 shots on each one on my Z7ii and 3600 on my D500. I've also got a Sony 64GB XQD card as a backup. In your opinion would it be worth my while maybe getting another card ' just in case'? How do you work out exactly how much capacity you'll need if unable to do download? Should I consider getting another in case one of the cards fail? I've looked at the prices of suitable cards and 256GB's seem the best value ones. I can't afford to get larger capacity ones. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you.
