Metadata and Z8

Looking through the metadata panel in Lightroom I note that the Focal Distance and Subject Distance are not recorded despite using default settings. I am using the Z8 with the Nikon 500mm f5.6 lens and a 1.4 teleconverter. This did not happen when I was using my D500. Have I got a setting wrong or does LR not record this with the Z8?
