Milky Way Over Cabin.jpg

Beautiful image.

Can you tell us how you created it? What exposure time, did you stack?
Thanks!

First image I took of cabin, trees and skies during blue hour. Exposure on that was about 1.3 seconds, one shot.

Second image, I kept camera pointed in same direction, but put it on a star tracker device called Move Shoot Move that when set up properly and turned on, follows the earth’s rotation so that it keeps everything pin point sharp and allows you to do any exposure time you want without needing to stack. Set it up so that the device was aimed at the North Star, set camera on top of the device pointed towards the cabin and then angled it upwards so that it cleared the tree line and had just the Milky Way in it. Exposure for that was 5 minutes of capturing the light, then five minutes of camera doing long exposure noise reduction.

In post, blended the two images together by eliminating the sky from first picture and bringing milky way slightly down from where it originally was so both the cabin and Milky Way were visible in the photo.

Hope that makes sense?
