Boxing day I was at a favorite local beach waiting for Orcas that were heading that way. A family of 5 River Otters appeared, I often see them here but this is a larger group than usual. There is a car sized boulder just out from the shore where they like to bring there catch to eat, usually Starry Flounder or one of the similar flatfish common here. I had my camera on a tripod watching this Otter eat its fish, when suddenly a Bald Eagle swooped in and swiped it! It happened in an instant and I completely failed the capture. :( I was just completely startled, it was only 30 ft away, and took my finger off the button and my head away from the viewfinder. Here's what I got. Feel free to share any similar experiences.
