Missing folders…

Ever since getting my MacBook Pro (M1; Sequoia 15.1.1) I have to “find missing folder” every day when I start Lightroom. All of my photos are on a Synology NAS that is set to shut down every night.

It must have something to do with the NAS shutdown because I can replicate the problem by shutting down and restarting the computer. My old Windows laptop never lost track of my folders.

Any Mac users out there that can help? I must be missing a setting somewhere in the Mac or in Lightroom. I’ve looked all over and can’t fix this. It’s not that big a deal, only takes a minute to relocate my folders, I just think this shouldn’t be happening and I’m missing something.

Thanks!

There is quite a bit online regarding your options to connect automatically to your MBPro. Sometimes it is easier to give Synology a call and ask them to walk you through the process. I am sure that you will need to set up your Log In preferences to include your NAS. And your NAS to allow 'sharing' with your Mac.

As a general principle…hard drives re happier if left running ll the time…as are Macs…so I would leave the NAS running nd just let the Mac display sleep but not the computer. Mount the NAS once then select it and Make Alis…that will putan Icon on the desktop and if it ever gets unmounted a simple double click will bring it back. Drives and Macs that aren’t being used use very little power.
