I had no idea what they were doing when I looked by naked eye. I observed the female take one for a moment, then toss it away, and again with another.
Take note 1680mm focal length, hand held, 5:50 pm in northern latitude of WA. Therefor, there was a nice lingering glow that was quite ideal for the contrast of the flowers to the bird dark zones, but it was also just barely enough to chase them around that tree.
Cropped original is 3030x3788 so the 2x + 1.4x did quite well on this I'd say and is an example of why we like more Mp ....
