I took a chance that I'd like the D6 and am very pleased with how good it is, even with having been using a Z9 on 117 outings since Thanksgiving,

The D6 arrived 2 days ago and so I almost fully matched it to my Z9 set up.
This was also the first field use of the only F mount lens I have so far, the 180-400mm F4 TC.

I have to say, the lens is awesome and so is the D6. Pretty much a perfect combination to say the least.

The second shot is really lovely. Well done.
Thanks Dan. I waited quite a while for a combo like that with all the other parameters also lined up like:
- no sticks in the way
-duckling not too much in her shadow so as to not have any light on it
-both of them close to same plane of focus. At f8 on that lens and TC in place, it's only one f stop from wide open, barely enough DOF so it had to have them both aligned.
-both faces with eyes open and more or less seeing the camera
-heads not fully down into the water, which seemed like most of the time that day.
-all of the above while in water surrounding them and not hidden behind the surface mud.
-oh, and none of the others intruding on the space upsetting my composition idea of just mom and one near her. Several moments had the baby on the other side of her head, too obstructed for the small body.

Coming from years of "styling" a scene for all sorts of things, it has occurred to me to pre-prep an area by relocating random sticks and junk I don't like LOL
