One of our local reserves is now producing great numbers of orchids, in one section a blue carpet of Thelymitras.
Others there are quite rare, but they also are in greater numbers than I have experienced before.

Spotted Sun Orchid (Thelymitra ixiodes) 200 - 300mm tall (some were taller), flowers 30 - 40mm across.
Dark Blue to mauve

@Oztours
Stacking these would be a big undertaking, the wind blows these plants quite some way towards, away and sideways, pretty much any direction from the camera.
I have had some orchids move 45 degrees from vertical when trying to photograph them, just not possible to stack that movement.
No option to move them as they are wholly protected.

I have a photo the same type as the Purple Beard Orchid, (Calochilus platychila) that was in the same reserve three years ago, no sign of them this year.
Most unusual to have more than one labellum, two is odd, three is very unusual and both on the same plant!

This is the Strap Beard Orchid, (Calochilus paludosus), from a different Reserve, it is quite a different colour.

It should be a similar colour the one shown below.

@ChengHai Yang
Thank you.

These are all native orchids none, are planted.

I will post anything interesting.
Most of the orchids in flower over the last few days are reliant on warm sunny weather to fully open.
Hopefully the next few days are successful.

@Oztours
Yes, the blowing wind is most big problem in outdoor photograph. But have you ever tried to use a wind shield, such as a white or transparent plastic umbrella, attached on a tripod....
Wish you success...
