The nice thing about mushrooms is that they stay put so you can experiment a little. In this case by changing my position, aperture and using a little led light. Let me know if you have a preference (or other opinion of course)!

Trying to give an honest reaction, I'm never a fan of large out of focus areas in the foreground. I think sometimes the 'frame within the frame' idea works, but the content has to be recognizable and related to the area of emphasis. When the oof area is larger than and nearer to the subject to me it doesn't work. However with some cropping to reduce the size of the oof area it could be appealing. Number one cropped as a portrait with that leaf framing the bottom right side for example.
