On 5/1/2022 at Lake Springfield in Springfield, Mo. I was about 2 car widths (not length) away from this beauty. Sadly I only had my 500PF on the Nikon D500 because I was trying to see if the local Eagles nest had any young.
D500 500mm PF 1/3200 @ f5.6, ISO 560 near sunset.

I honestly can not tell if it is missing a leg or if it is tucked, it is the most images I ever took without the subject swapping feet.
