My pet cat… Canada Lynx. Late February 2020. Photographed from a blind near Eagle Lake, British Columbia. Nine days sitting in a blind for 7 hours. -10ºC during the day, needed hand and toe warmers. Some other clients saw a fisher and a female coy-wolf (part coyote, part wolf).

Sony (a7R4, 100-400mm f4.5-5.6GM, 1.4xTC)
560mm 1/1600s f/8.0 ISO500, tripod+gimbal head, remote shutter.
Manual with auto ISO.
Focus area: Flexible spot: L, animal eye detect.

Slept in a log cabin with a wood burning stove. -25ºC at night.

Great catches. I too prefer the whole-body image in the second photo. Although the temperature wouldn't be an issue for me, there's no way I could spend that much time sitting waiting for a photo opportunity -- lack of patience and easily bored.

I try to go on 3 or 4 once-in-a-lifetime trips each year...

Wildlife tend to spread out, for instance muskoxen or Arctic wolves on the Canadian tundra. Some of my favourite trips have critters in high density: Khutzeymateen Inlet grizzlies, and many other places along the British Columbia coast; East and the southern Africa countries; Churchill Manitoba in October.

Your tenacity and patience has certainly paid off.
I too prefer the 2nd image which is a wall hanger.
