Need some advice (and hand-holding) on a 4K monitor purchase

After a long time of research and delaying due to cold feet I'm finally ready to make a buy. The monitor I've settled on is the Dell UltraSharp 27-imch 4K U2723QE. It has good reviews and ratings, comes with a 30-day no-questions-asked prepaid return policy and has a 3 year warranty.

I would describe my use as "serious amateur hobbyist video editing" and not professional. My budget is $1000 Canadian max (about $700 US). My one nagging concern is that I have always only worked on good quality glossy finish monitors. I have never been bothered by the glare or reflections and I far prefer the nice contrast and rich colours on glossy monitors. I would give my eye teeth for a Mac Studio monitor. Any matte finish monitor I have looked at I really didn't like, but since I live in the PC world and glossy monitors are now as scare as hen's teeth in this world I think I just have to make my peace with this and move forward.

So my question is, does anyone have any experience with this monitor and if so, how do/did you like it? Any other thoughts, comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Rudy

Rudy,
That is the exact model I bought 10 days ago, only in 32 inch.
I have used the P2721Q for 3 1/2 years or so with zero issues.
In the US, B&H was 2/3 the price of buying from Dell.
They run sales from time to time. Good return policy also.
Maybe your big camera stores are similar.
So far I am happy with my Dell monitors.

Thanks for the great and reassuring feedback, Dave. When you told me about the new Dell monitor you bought on sale at B&H I went right over to their website and unfortunately there was big notice that this item cannot be shipped to Canada.... too bad. It's the same for camera bodies and most lenses.

I see Amazon Canada has it also.
Thanks Dave. Yes, I just looked and it's a little cheaper on Amazon Canada, but I don't like making major purchases on Amazon as I've read about so many stories of problems when it comes warranty issues with manufactures who don't operate the same when you haven't bought their product directly from them.

Rudy I’ve had extremely good luck buying expensive items from Amazon. I have bought a couple of my camera bodies from them and I’ve never had any issues whatsoever but that’s not to say it’s not possible.

In fact, i bought my last laptop from them about six months ago, and it was great.
Good to know. I forgot to add that they also have been known to repackage sold items and sending them out again. My first Manfrotto video head hand been opened already so I sent it back. I'm probably being overly cautious, but for about $100 difference I prefer to go with Dell. Call me chicken little. 😟
