One of my Xmas cards from somebody in my village this year had a message inside that the sender was regularly seeing a pair of barn owls hunting over the road from their house at breakfast time. After couple of mornings with only brief and distant glimpses the male was hunting close to the fence today. Nice to catch up with a new owl and one that hopefully I may get to know quite well:
