For the third year in a row our new year trip to the north coast of Cornwall has coincided with a storm. A couple of hours ago wind gusts were around 50mph and waves around 10ft. By midnight thes numbers will be 60mph and 15ft. It will be interesting in the morning (apart from the driving rain!).

Those storms are getting hard to avoid near the Channel, except in summer when they're less frequent. In this season, it's typically once every 2 weeks or so. 10 years ago, they were pretty rare IIRC.
