Ah, the power-zoom version, nice. Thanx for the share!

The Sony one is made by Tamron, and I assume this will be too. Not a knock, btw, Tamron makes great zooms and probably the majority of Sony and Nikon zooms (despite marketing departments' protests to the contrary).

Is this zoom the first of the Gold-Ring Video lenses for the Z system - inaugurating a new sister line to the Silver-Ring S Line?

If it's parfocal this will push up the price..... And it will also be interesting to see if this zoom is calibrated in T Stops

A longer focal length Telephoto(s) Nikkor for cinema will be interesting, especially if it has an integral Teleconverter.

This leads to asking when will Nikon announce their first"Zed-Red" camera?

Waiting on specs, but if it's close to the Sony one, it's not a serious lens, as none of the PZs is. Compromised optics for the sake of camcorder-like zooming was my impression of the Sony version when I tested it. Like you, waiting to see when they combine the RED sensor and CODEC with a Z mount, then hoping they follow up with a set of fast cine-primes (28, 35, 50, 85, 105).

The resemblance to the Sony lens is striking.

Interesting announcement from Nikon, another step forward in their videography plans. I assume the new lens will have even better control of focus breathing than the current S-line range of lenses. If so, I fear this will mean I will end up buying yet another lens in that 24-70mm range!

From B&H: “The Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ Lens (Nikon Z) is the same design as the Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4
G OSS Full-Frame Power Zoom Lens but with a Nikon Z mount.“

LOL, think I am going off the lens, (wallet is feeling happier) a quote from a review of the original Sony version back in 2015:
Because of it’s weight, you will in many cases be forced to use a rig or tripod to use the lens properly. Shooting from the hand is not so easy (but possible).

Not that long ago the best options for cine was with Canon or Sony and Nikon is playing catch-up. Its purchase of RED was a start and it is starting to release lenses that feature Synchro VR which includes the 28-400mm zoom lens. For run and gun shooters the 28-135mm will be a no-brainer lens purchase.
