Nikon's Z series 70-200mm f/2.8 lens has a maximum magnification of approximately 0.2:1 so it's not a true 1:1 macro lens (basically an object 5 times the size of your camera's sensor can be focused when fully filling the frame but you won't be able to get closer to smaller subjects for frame filling shots and still focus). But if you add a good quality diopter like a 77mm Canon 500D to the front it would make a very nice macro lens for live subject work like butterflies, bees and the like.Just picked up my Z7ll and I will be using it wit the FTZ....Looking down the road was thinking about the Z 70-200 for macro...I haven't done macros much, maybe something to try.
Thanks,
Chuck
I very much agree. The Canon 500D combined with the 70-200 makes for a very good close-up/macro combination.Nikon's Z series 70-200mm f/2.8 lens has a maximum magnification of approximately 0.2:1 so it's not a true 1:1 macro lens (basically an object 5 times the size of your camera's sensor can be focused when fully filling the frame but you won't be able to get closer to smaller subjects for frame filling shots and still focus). Nice!I found the Canon 77mm Canon 500D ...being shipped.
Thanks Again,
