Nikon 14-24 filters?

Thinking of purchasing Nikon 14-24 2.8. I realize it does not take screw on filters. Has anyone had issue using without filters for landscapes such as glare on water, reflections etc etc. Will be using on d850. Wondering if other filter system will be needed. Thanks in advance..Jim

I just bought this lens for some Astro work and needed a filter and found this as the best solution. It works great and can hold 3 filters at a time.

I used the Wonderpana with that lens (I no longer have it, shooting the 14-30 Z mount lens now). Good setup:

That's an older video, the new version is even better.

I have been using the newer version Wonderpana for a few years now. It has worked really well but like all filter systems for this lens, it is big and not cheap.

(For the record, I have just bought a Haida M10 system for my Z lenses and absolutely love it! Best filter system I have used!)

Steve are you using the f4 or 2.8 version? If you have the f4 version are you considering going to the 2.8?

The F/4 version. I was thinking of the new 14-24 2.8, but I just don't do that many landscapes anymore. Also, I'm happy with the sharpness of the 14-30, plus it has 6 more mm on the long end. All that, and it's really small. There's a lot to like.

I I were doing more landscape and especially if some of those were more astro-oriented I'd be all over the 2.8.

I also have the 14-30 f4 Z lens and have been pretty impressed with it. I have seen reviews that the 2.8 is sharper which is pretty impressive. I just bought the 14-24f2.8 F mount for astro work last week (taking it out Friday night for it's first go) and considered the Z version however $2K vs a mint used copy for $880 was the deciding factor.

Yup. pretty easy decision! The original 14-24 was and still is an incredibly impressive lens.
