Nikon D7500 Max Continuous Burst

I'm trying to get the correct memory cards to get my D7500 up above 33 frames before the buffer gets full and it starts to slow down. The manual says 50 frames using

I'm shooting RAW 14 bit loss-less compressed. Active D-Lighting is off. I'm using back button continuous auto focus with the shutter set to go off when shutter release is pressed. When pressing down on the shutter halfway, in the lower right of the viewfinder, it shows r33 and that seems reasonably accurate as to how many frames I actually get before slow down. I can watch that figure count down as I'm releasing the shutter.

I'd really like to get that number higher and from all the various forums I've found people recommending faster memory cards.

I have a Lexar Professional 128GB card that claims 250MB/s and a SanDisk Extreme Pro that claims 170 MB/s. Both say 33 frames in the viewfinder. From what I've heard people claim, you only need 90MB/s to achieve the 50 frame buffer figure.

Any suggestions as to memory cards that will get me up towards 50 frames? Or perhaps modifying settings on the camera to help achieve it?

Thanks!

My SD card is 95MB/s. Higher speed cards won't make a difference with the D7500 as its UHS-1 SD card slot caps out at 100MB/s. My D7500 says r33 as well which I find is more than enough. I only shoot short bursts of 4-5 frames or so and have never come close to filling the buffer. Out of curiosity I just held down the shutter button and it took 49 frames before slowing down. I think r33 is just an estimate and not representative of the actual buffer size.

Another thng to remember is that unless stated as write, the speeds you quote are read speeds and write speeds are a lot slower.

I don't believe that a faster card will change the buffer capacity. The buffer capacity that is displayed is based on camera settings. If you have a faster memory card the buffer might clear faster but it won't change the capacity of the buffer. Having a faster memory card might allow you to shoot more images before the FPS slows.

I believe that the Auto Distortion Control might also change the buffer capacity and there might be some other settings as well.

The D7500 has a UHS-1 SD slot which is 100 MB/s. Cards faster than that won't make a difference, so the buffer will clear at the same speed whether you have a 95 MB/s card or a faster one.
