Nikon Z8 and Kenko Extension Tubes (pre DG)

I have 3 Kenko Extension Tubes that I received for a Christmas gift in 2002. They do NOT say DG. I've been researching and it appears you might not be able to use these with lenses that don't have an aperture ring OR "If your camera is unable to shoot in Manual exposure mode without communication from a lens, you would not be able to use "dumb" extension tubes that do not allow your camera to communicate with your lens". There does appear to be some "pins" on the extension tubes though, whatever they might be for. I haven't been able to find a user guide online.

Does anyone know if these will work with the Z8 ?

Thanks much for any info you might have. With the purchase of the Z8, I am realizing how old my lenses and "accessories" are!
