Nikon Z8 - Aperture Randomly Changes In Manual Mode

Hi, I'm new to the forum but it looks great and I'm excited to be part of it. I have a Nikon Z8 and I've suddenly encountered a problem where my aperture randomly changes even though I'm in Manual mode. The other interesting thing is that it only happens in one of the Z8 Banks - there are 4 and it only happens in Bank D. This leads me to believe that I have inadvertently changed one of the settings in Bank D only. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

I would be looking at the custom settings for the lens function and perhaps you've assigned aperture to the control ring or another button on the lens that you're inadvertently touching. Do you have different ISO limitations in that Bank?

Is there a custom function ring on the lens? Check that it's not been set for f stops

I have inadvertently changed control ring function to change either ISO or aperture, and been unpleasantly surprised when checking my images later.

I have my own personal default menu settings saved and I load them before each day of shooting and sometimes during a break while shooting.

What others said: it is almost certainly the control ring on your lens.

Hi Everyone, thanks for your help here - much appreciated. I went into Bank D custom settings and went to the control ring and changed it. It seems to have fixed the issue. I then went and checked the control ring in Banks A, B and C and they were all good. Thanks again!
