Nikon Z8: Focus Modes

Hey Everyone, I've got a burning question about the Focus Modes. For a period of time when I was going through the different modes like Wide C1 /C2 there was always a small red dot within the larger box. Now I don't have any small red dots within the rectangles or square boxes??? Can anybody please help me?

You’re thinking of Dynamic Area AF. The Wide Area focus modes have red rectangular or square boxes.

No....Wide C1 and C2 also had a red dot inside the box as well

I just looked at my Z8 and Z9. I have no red dots within the red squares or rectangles for Wide C1 or C2. Nor do I ever recall seeing them.

There’s a red dot in the center of C1/C2 (and other) patterns - center the focal pattern to get it back (OK button in the multi-selector).

This could happen when your base AF area mode is single point and you assign wide L/C1,C2 etc to other buttons.
