The lone tree that somehow was spared the Ax? Reminds me of Appalachian mountains, became the scene of a major logging boom which continued until the 1920's. Logging caused extensive damage to the mountain environment which drew the attention of conservationists in the region and in Washington, D.C.

Thank you Cas, Lisa & Jeff. The stands of trees on either side of the road in the first picture are typical Aspens. Further along on a rise by a creek stands this lone majestic tree that I believe is an Aspen as well. Unusual in my experience. I'm happy the photo conveyed the same emotions I had. Put it on my calendar to return in the Fall.

Great images. Like the 1st one. From a hill or drone?
5 Panel Panorama from a hill. I enjoy trying to capture panoramas of wide open spaces. This could have been a 9 panel but it gets too long and narrow. And I think you need a subject. So I cropped to place the early morning sun highlighting the ranch & Aspen stands. Thanks for the question and appreciate any additional thoughts, Rich.

Thanks, Rich. From a tripod on a hill. It is actually a 5 panel panorama. Thinking it could be a good spot for a summer thunderstorm.
