I was too close with the 600 prime to get the whole body in the shot so decided for a closeup portrait.

Thank you. This was shot wide open at f/4 but at the minimum focus distance. Had to step back a couple steps to allow for focus.Super sharp! I think I normally prefer the more shallow dof, but in this case seeing the tree in focus helps my eye identify the tree and move on to the burd, and not spend time trying to figure out what the oof background might be. Both are good, but number 1 for me.
