Wow! Great shot, wonderful way to ring in the new year.
We just noticed that there's a G4 (kp7) storm alert out. In our area, that threshold was reached during the day, plus it's cloudy. We're in california.

The sun is still very active, keep on looking and there probably will be other nights for you too.
Yes, I have alerts set up on my phone. My wife is an aurora enthusiast, but we are generally too far south to see anything without a kp8 or kp9. But I got images twice in 2024. May was the best. I now have two tripods so if we get any aurora, I'll use two cameras.
