Northern Lights

Last May the Northern Lights were visible to the naked eye here in Southern Maine. These we shot with a Z9 and 17-28 mm lens @17mm shutter speed 15 sec.

What are all the concentric circles in the dead center of the image? At first I only noticed it in the 2nd image, but it's in both.

My guess in some sort of fresnel element.

I'm not sure, I just went back and looked at the originals and its not there.

Bob, Thanks for sharing these impressive images. Certainly a rare opportunity to catch the northern lights in the lower 48. I like () including other “sky watchers” in the photos. Sometimes other photographers add interest in an image as they did here. Well done….
