Not appropriate for more than 200mm focal distance.

That was the description regarding a CPL filter that I'm eyeing. I will be using it on my 180 - 600mm. There is no need for me to waste my money, if that's the case!

Has anyone experiences any negative results with your CPL on a telephoto or zoom lens?

If there're important subjects under bright conditions with glare and reflections off water, leaves, rocks etc, then a CPL is essential on a Telephoto in tropical savannas.
I use the internal CPL for the 180-400 TC14, 800 f5.6E and 800 PF, also 77mm on a 70-200 f2.8E.
I also used them previously on a the 400 f2.8E, 300 PF and 300 f2.8G

Would you have the link to where it said that. I'm just wondering if they explained why it is not appropriate.

Yes. Here is the description/advertisement where I read that claim.

I’d put that down to poor advertising and someone that wrote the ad copy being confused. There’s no optical reason that a well designed and manufactured circular polarizer would degrade with long focal length lenses.

That said, I’d probably skip on a brand that advertises this way and go with a known high quality brand.
