Over the last few years, I've photographed many Great Blue Herons. Once you get past the enormous beauty with which the Creator has graced them, there's really not much to photograph. They usually stand quite still with their standard "I'm far too cool to actually DO anything" pose.

But, once in a while, one of these beauties will put themselves in a place that really needs a photograph. This one happened at Oklahoma City's Lake Hefner yesterday afternoon. Hope you like it.

Nice image. This is certainly a different take on the usual shot where the bird is standing or wading in water. Shows you one must look everywhere for wildlife, not just what's in front of you.
