Olympus E-Mi Mark III

I would like to hear from anyone who is using an Olympus E-M1 Mark III. Do you like the camera? Are there any "lessons-learned" you'd like to pass on? What lens do you find the most useful? Are you going to invest in the recently released 150-400 telephoto.

A little more context on what you plan on photographing might be helpful. I have Mk I and II bodies and use them with the 40-150/2.8, but for any longer FL I use my Nikon gear, especially for BIF. I like the Oly bodies, but never found the C-AF performance to be to my liking. Having said that, there are a number of photographers who have mastered it and produce some amazing shots. So, a lot of your experience will depend on your expectations and prior AF techniques and training IMHO.

I have been a longtime Nikon shooter but at 75, and having had both shoulders replaced, I'm finding the full-sized bodies (D500 & D850) a bit on the heavy side. I call myself a "nature photographer" and enjoy photographing wildlife in general and birds in particular. Thank oy for responding to my question

I can understand the need for a lighter set-up. I love the IQ from the 40-150, but that is generally not enough range for BIF, unless you have very large birds at close range. If I had to stick with Oly bodies, the MK III would probably be the one I would choose. Regarding lenses, I have heard mixed reviews on the 300/4. Some have shown great results, and others have called out focusing issues. I do not know if that is user error or QC issues, but before I spent that much on a lens, I would want to make sure it was not going to give me issues. I have not heard anything on the 150-400 so I cannot comment.
