Nice set, Karen. That first shot is really excellent. Pretty sure that's a needlefish.
Yes, very similar to needlefish. But it was in a inland fresh water lake and the locals called it a garfish.
Yes in fresh water it's certainly a gar. And now I'm looking closer the back does look dark which is typical of gar. Needlefish are typically lighter blue.
Blue Cypress Lake.....a fun place to spend a morning!

Wow Kare! Beautifully composed! #1 is my fave, but I like them all! The fish looks like a Gar. We have them in the Mississippi River. They're prehistoric descendants.
