In May, I made my first ever trip to Magee Marsh. The number of birds seemed to be lower than expected, but I still enjoyed the experience. In fact, I plan to return next year!

I used my Z8 + 400 f4.5 + 1.4 tele. Here is one of the images I created while there. Comments appreciated.

Lovely.
I rented that lens and used it with the 2x. It was lovely to use…very light, as I compared it with the z70-200 at the time. But I prefer the options a zoom offers For composition. I’m still debating switching the z160-600 for a z600pf . Reviews are against it. Have you tried it?

I prefer zooms for wide and mid-range (14-24, 24-70, 70-200 f2.8s, 100-400). For my long lenses, I have the 400 f4.5 and 600mm TC. I feel I can crop a bit in post if needed and much prefer shooting as wide open as possible.

I find it hard to believe a zoom lens can offer excellent IQ at all the focal ranges of 180-600........ But old age may force me to give it a try!
