Panasaonic G9 arrived at last, first thoughts

Quick tryout above. this doesn't do justice to actually seeing it directly on a monitor against on a photogrfaphic site

What an amazing camera (picture above from). First thing was weight difference from my Nikon D810. The pictures are razor sharp in comparison to my Nikon D810 like stepping into the future even with the kit 12-60mm lens.
Next was the way it could be held with the body layout so easy to hold. I was fairly familiar with the menu as I already had another panasonic , if I hadn't then i think anyone new to the mark would need time to get used to how the menu and settings worked. Not tried the video side as I shall be using my Panasonic HC-X1500 for that. Great it has 2xSD card slots saves buying different type of cards.

Of course every camera has its negative side, this on the G9 was finding the diaoptic dial for the eyepiece, it being partially hidden behing the eye cup. Also several buttons/dials doing the same job . something I will have to attend to later on . The camera strap shout out what you are using inviting it to be pinched, So getting another peak design strap for four third cameras. This makes it so easy to remove the strap as sometime it can get in the way, say on a tripod for example. Obviously I have not tried out all settings but those I have tried go way above my expectations.

The question I ask myself was it worth getting for £1199 ? all I can say is I wish I had bought it a long time ago . I was lucky to get one of the last few with the kit lens from UK main dealers.
Both the camcorder and G9 fit nicely in my Tamrac ystem bag, an added bonus. thought it worth a mention
