2021 was the year for Brood X in Maryland to emerge from the ground. Happens every 17 years, cicada's by the Billions, with the Cicada mating calls reaching 100 decibels. 100 decibels is considered very loud and dangerous to human hearing. They were around for about 5 weeks.
