Photos this week

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

Have a look at these photos and could you tell what should I do to improve me photos.

I think the beaver shot suffers because the subject is partly behind branches. The bird is not super sharp and his eye is not visible. It is difficult to get an eye in focus in a face with such dark feathers, but I think focus is on the twigs in front of the plane of the bird's face. Are you a long way away from the subject? Are the images cropped? If so, getting closer might be the best plan. Of course, that may be impossible.
Could you send us the EXIF? May be more help then. I am just guessing here based on things I do wrong myself:D

Well actually the focus seems off because of quality degradation when uploading to the internet, but I agree with the beaver though here is another photo that has no branches in front

It is great to see birds from Lithuania. The woodpeckers are great, and I always love owl pictures. Very nicely done. I don't think I have ever seen Lithuanian wildlife before. Aren the beavers in Lithuania?

All the snakes where I live (Melbourne in Southern Australia, Melbourne is Australia's second biggest city after Sydney,
) are venomous but most people never see them. No truly deadly spiders here. Sydney has- the Funnel Web.

It might be possible to selectively lighten the birds eye and head, a little to show the eye more. Perhaps cropping to a vertical orientation would cut out the distractions in the lower right. It’s great to see wildlife from different countries!
