I have just started taking some landscape images, and I have a Nikon 14-24 with the bulbous front end. The Lee and NISI systems to hold filters are very expensive.
Has anyone got a solution that won't cost too much?
Thanks all,
I

Haida do one that is cheaper than Lee or Nisi. Cokin used to but not sure about now. The inescapable cost with 150 mm square CPL filters is the cost of good filter itself. Grads are even dearer.

I agree Lee is expensive but it’s a beautiful system for stacking filters especially. After all the research, I took the plunge. The optical quality of glass coupled with the adaptability of the mounting system sold me on it. But I hear you, it was an expensive day ;)

Thank you guys. Lots of great information here. I did not know that about the sky, Rassie.
i rarely use a polarizer on ultra wide lenses for that reason, but I almost always have a neutral graduated filter on to manage lighting differences. It’s much easier to add contrast back in between zones afterwards than to deal with a blow out sky in post.

Keep in mind with regards to a polarizer on a wide angle - they do work fine for reflections :) I used mine all the time for waterfalls to knock excess reflection off the leaves.

Yes thank you Steve. I watched that video and it makes a huge difference! I don't use my 14-24 much but it is great. I think you sold yours. Is there a better alternative? I look to shoot the same things you shoot.

I'm using the Z cameras and the 14-30 at the moment. I'm tempted to get the new 14-24 for the Z cameras, but I don't shoot nearly as many landscape as I used to so it's tough to justify the expense.
