We spend so much time talking about eye-AF and where the animal sight should lead for most pleasing results - but now and then the scene calls for a "back shot" so what about we start a thread of deliberate back shots? Pictures that you composed on purpose with the animal facing away because that's what fit the scene.

In my part of the world, there are many Blacktail deer, and many Mule deer. What I rarely see are White tail deer. A few days ago I was in SW Washington where the Columbian White tail deer exist. I found the flicking of their tail fascinatingly different than what I am used to. I shot this little one walking away flicking the tail back and forth, just before it jumped into the bushes.

I would probably take the shot but wait for the animal to turn its head.
