When asking for help, it helps those who wish to respond if you would tell us what camera/lens etc you are using. There have been a few requests for advice lately that don't mention the gear that the question relates to. Kinda hard to offer a solution when different brands operate differently. Heck, even all Nikon's aren't created equal. Same goes for asking for ID's of birds, beasts and critters. Tell us the location where the shot was taken as it really helps narrow down the choices.

Agree with you Warren, all information is relevant and useful to make a good starting point at least.

It is only relevant if both the parties use the same brand. What if the person posting something useful uses a different system to the one asking for help? Many things are not camera dependent.
