Pre-capture on Z8 is awesome!

I have been trying out the precapture function on my Z8 and it certainly helps me to 'nail the shot'. The jpeg images aren't as good as RAW files but if the image fills the frame and the exposure etc is accurate the images are quite acceptable. Not sure how they will print out, however. These Welcome Swallows (Hirudo neoxena) were sitting on a branch over a small dam and despite their size and watching insects flying over their heads, still preferred to be fed by a parent!

Very fast event, the chicks shuffle their wings and open their mouths in anticipation as the parent approaches and to capture the precise moment, freezing the action. In the series i took a wing beat lasts one frame. A slower shutter speed would still work and add some artistic wing blur.
