I had an enjoyable morning practicing shooting in low-light with slow shutter speeds (1/100 - 1/200th or thereabouts) with my newish Nikon D850 & Sigma 150-600c lens. From a tripod, of course. I rarely use a tripod in the field, except when sitting in a makeshift blind or here in the yard. Band-tailed Pigeon 1/320sec, 600mm f/6.3

Made a pigeon look good! The rain forecast up north here is 5 days straight and chance of dusting of snow at lower levels. Hopefully so cal getting rain will bode well for the flower show in the Tehachapis this spring!

I also have that combination. Sigma is sharp and has a very nice bokeh. The AF is a bit slow and in darkness it depends on your ability to hold the lens... But you used trupod, it's good!
