You spoil them! Nice, I would too if raptors would visit
Thanks, Callie. This guy had just taken a bath in a pool of water in the forest behind my home and was drying himself, showing the world just how pleased he was with himself. Had to crop tight because of all the dense foliage.Baie nice, Koos
Koos, especially like that suggestion of a snow landscape behind him. Beaut owl
Impressed me to by such a raptor, my second and last encounter with this species was in South Florida along a country road.Li

Great shot, love the faded background
Very nice series CallieOur smallest raptor, about sparrow sized, but more robust. I think there is an Aisian or Chinise pygmy too that is just smaller or about the same size. Kgalagadi Transfrontier park and Mokala NP.

Thanks, Ira. That faded background was a result of weather conditions. It was -9C outside that day, with snow falling and drifting most of the time. It was also foggy to some extent.Great shot, love the faded background
Thanks a lot for that Oosty. I think the image below (posted before in these forums) of the same owl was generally the more popular of the two. More detailed because I was closer to the bird here. That is a magnificent image - composition, capture, balance and PP. Definitely a wall hanger and salon worthy pic. Probably the best overall image of a Snowy I've seen. Well done
NICE, on my wishlist!Powerful Owl (with fruit-bat) from Melbourne, Australia (Previously posted in a different thread)

Thanks Callie, finally found one on my birthday earlier this year on the day before Melbourne went into a hard Covid related lock-down that meant I couldn't travel back to the site as it was out of the 5km restricted zone. Got to see its young a few month later which was another treat.NICE, on my wishlist!
Wow. Great shots. You've cornered the owl market. Where's the Pel's fishing owl (preferably catching a fish)?African barred Owlet - Okavango Delta 2009 Nikon D70 + Sigma 50-500 at 500mm f8 1/500 ISO400
